It pays to read before you sign -- or vote.

The brilliant Dallas City Council has allowed the wily John Wiley Price to put one over on them. Price put forth a resolution for Juneteenth. In it, he calls for "monetary and substantial reparations" for African Americans -- never mind that there hasn't been a slave in Dallas for 150 years. I guess all the commissioners were afraid they'd be called racist if they voted against anything having to do with Juneteenth, so they passed the thing.

Now they're claiming ignorance. However, the resolution was read in open court in their presence. I say ignorance is no excuse.
