I believe him!

If we are to believe Donald Andrew Bess's defense attorney, poor Angela Samota had far more than her share of bad luck one day in 1984. Bess is on trial for Angela's rape and murder. He admits he raped her, because there's incontrovertible DNA evidence. But he says he's not the one who stabbed her 18 times. His attorney says that police "jumped to conclusions" just because they found Bess's DNA on her. Bless her heart, to be raped by one man, and then have another unknown man come in and murder her after that.

Incidentally, Bess was in prison on another rape charge when the Somota case was reopened and the DNA match was made.
