The director of our local teen beauty pageant should have someone help her learn to express herself for newpaper quotes. She said of this year's contestants, "It is important that these young ladies know about the area in which they are competing to represent."
Kind of reminds me of a former Miss South Carolina contestant -- "Some ah U.S. Americans don't have ah maps and such like and South Africa and Iran and our education . . . . ."
